Chocolate Cherry Smoothie with Banana

This chocolate cherry smoothie with banana is a satisfying nutrient dense smoothie that tastes like dessert, but can be eaten any time of day!
If you love the combination of chocolate and cherries, then you will love this cherry smoothie. It is made with a handful of ingredients, has a nice chocolate taste from the cocoa powder, and is filled with cherry flavor from the frozen cherries. It is naturally sweetened with banana and has extra omega 3’s from chia seeds.
This smoothie tastes like a frozen chocolate cherry dessert in a bowl but is actually lighter for you! We love having lighter smoothies like that for breakfast. If you do as well, check out our Cherry Mango Carrot Smoothie or Spirulina Smoothie with Banana. Also try our cherry grain-free granola if you love cherry flavor for breakfast.

Recipe ingredients

- Frozen banana– we usually take ripe bananas and peel them and individually freeze them for simple use in smoothies.
- Frozen cherries– we like using dark sweet cherries, but feel free to use tart cherries if you prefer that. Try our cherry granola recipe if you love cherries!
- Almond milk– make sure to use an unflavored almond milk with no sugar added.
- Chia seeds– these add omega-3s and anti-inflammatory properties.
- Cocoa powder– make sure to use a good quality unsweetened cocoa powder. We love using this cocoa powder to make chocolate pudding.
